PRN Patient Care Technician/ Outpatient
About The Position
The PRN Patient Care Technician performs patient care and related tasks under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The technician prepares dialysis machines and supplies, and provides quality care and service to patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment under the direction of the Facility Manager or Charge Nurse. The role also helps maintain a safe, quiet, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and employees, and supports the facility team as needed. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with flexible hours between 6:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. The position requires standing for most of the shift, with frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion when positioning patients and moving equipment. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and annual influenza vaccination, along with immunizations for Hepatitis, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and TB, is required for employment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in dialysis as a Patient Care Technician.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and annual influenza vaccination, plus immunizations for Hepatitis, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and TB.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Dialysis Technician (CCHT) certification is highly preferred.
