Acute Care - Patient Care Technician/PCT - 7 PM - 7 AM - Full Time
About The Position
Wilson Health is seeking a direct hire Medical Surgical-Telemetry Patient Care Technician for our Acute Care Department in Sidney, Ohio. This is a full-time position on the 3rd shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), working 36 hours a week. The Acute Care Department is a 23-bed medical-surgical-telemetry unit that provides active, short-term treatment for serious injuries, illnesses, urgent medical conditions, or recovery from surgery. The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for patient observation rounds, suicide risk observation, and assisting in maintaining a therapeutic social environment for patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must have successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program: or three to six months related experiences and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient
- Carry out assigned treatments and procedures including assisting in activities of daily living
- Adhere to established standards of practice
- Provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings
- Responsible for patient observation rounds
- Responsible for suicide risk observation
- Assist with maintaining the patient's therapeutic social environment
