Patient Care Technician
About The Position
DaVita is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patients with end-stage renal disease in an outpatient dialysis clinic. Under RN supervision, the PCT provides direct, hands-on care to help patients through dialysis treatment. No experience is needed, and paid training is provided. CCHT certification may be earned in as little as six months. The schedule runs Monday through Saturday, with rotating Saturdays and no Sundays. Schedules are posted in advance. Candidates must have open availability for rotating early-morning and evening shifts and provide coverage at local clinics as needed; schedule restrictions cannot be accommodated.
Requirements
- Accredited high school diploma, GED credential, or equivalent.
- Comfortable around blood, needles, and medical equipment.
- Physically able to work long shifts on their feet.
- Willing to float between local clinics if needed.
- Flexible schedule, including rotating shifts and local clinic coverage as needed; the posting also lists mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- CNA, MA, or CHT certification.
- Phlebotomy certification.
- Healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment.
- Set up and maintain dialysis equipment.
- Record vital signs and patient data.
- Educate patients about treatment and kidney health.
- Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members.
