About The Position
The Patient Care Technician provides a variety of indirect and direct care to patients and their significant others under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Care includes meeting patients’ dependency needs related to nutrition, hygiene, and safety, as well as providing physical and psychological comfort measures. The technician performs duties in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Work is primarily performed in patient settings and involves extensive interaction with patients, staff, physicians, family members, and visitors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Provide indirect and direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Assist with patients’ nutrition, hygiene, and safety needs.
- Provide physical and psychological comfort measures to patients and their significant others.
- Perform job duties in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
