About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a PRN Patient Care Technician to support patient care. The technician performs basic care delegated by an RN, assists patients with daily activities, observes and reports changes, maintains patient areas, supports department operations, and documents care according to unit standards. The role also includes assigned duties and participation in performance improvement and required education.

Requirements

• High school degree preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake and output recording.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Observe and promptly report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
• Manage the tech desk and support nursing and physician staff and overall department throughput.
• Document care and activities according to unit standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
