Acute Care - Patient Care Technician/PCT - Part Time 7P-7A
About The Position
Wilson Health is seeking a direct-hire Medical Surgical-Telemetry Patient Care Technician for our Acute Care Department in Sidney, Ohio. This is a part-time position working 24 hours a week on the 3rd Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The Acute Care Department is a 23-bed medical-surgical-telemetry unit that provides treatment for patients with acute injuries, illnesses, urgent medical conditions, or during surgical recovery. The Patient Care Technician plays a crucial role in patient observation, including suicide risk observation, and in maintaining a therapeutic social environment for patients. This role involves assisting patients with their physical and emotional needs, carrying out assigned treatments and procedures, and assisting with activities of daily living, all while adhering to established standards of practice and ethical care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program: or three to six months related experiences and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Responsibilities
- Patient observation rounds
- Suicide risk observation
- Assisting with maintaining the patient's therapeutic social environment
- Assist in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient
- Carry out assigned treatments and procedures including assisting in activities of daily living
- Adhere to established standards of practice
- Provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings
