About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Telemetry position at Texas Health Fort Worth is a full-time role focused on providing direct patient care and assistance. The PCT will support the plan of care, collect and report patient data, and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes. This role involves performing technical procedures safely, documenting care accurately, and collaborating with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations. The PCT will also maintain a safe environment, meet patient and visitor needs, demonstrate teamwork, and participate in process improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program.
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
  • Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B)
  • Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program
  • 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
