About The Position

Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Tech II is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area(s). The Patient Care Tech II is responsible for collecting and reporting of information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation. Patient Care Techs are assigned as follows: Emergency Services – basic respiratory, cardiology, nursing care, phlebotomy, assists with orthopedic devices and procedures (infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric). Requirements

  • Completion of a CNA program, Or Completion of first semester nursing program, Or EMT program completion for hires to Emergency Services (for hires after 10/31/16)
  • California Nursing Assistant Certification License (Upon hire)
  • California Emergency Medical Technician License (Upon hire)
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Upon hire)
  • Experience with basic data entry

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of dysrhythmia course or ability to pass rhythm recognition exam test
  • 1 year of acute patient care experience
  • 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment in providing clerical support related to Provider or Patient documentation or charting
  • EKG Training

Responsibilities
