About The Position

The Patient Care Technician assists patients with daily living activities, supports the healthcare team by collecting, reporting, and documenting patient data, and maintains high patient and family satisfaction by providing care based on individual needs. This role systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of assigned duties, evaluates their own nursing practice in relation to standards and regulations, and acquires and maintains current knowledge of assigned duties. Patient Care Technicians interact with and contribute to the development of peers, deliver care in a nonjudgmental, nondiscriminatory, sensitive, and culturally competent manner, and collaborate with clients, family members, significant others, and health care providers in providing care. They also communicate effectively with clients, families, and other health care professionals. Secondary duties include supporting the ordering process, assisting with maintaining the medical record, greeting and assisting guests, and assisting with ordering supplies for the department while being fiscally responsible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
