Patient Care Technician - Acute Dialysis
About The Position
DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide hands-on dialysis care in a hospital setting. This role involves delivering one-on-one dialysis care to patients with kidney disease, monitoring and recording vital signs, setting up dialysis machines, observing treatment, and supporting patients physically and emotionally throughout their care. The technician will also educate patients on dialysis-related topics and collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members. While prior dialysis experience is not required for all candidates, it is preferred for this specific role, along with CCHT certification. The position covers hospitals in Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley, Richmond, and San Leandro.
Requirements
- Prior dialysis training/experience
- CCHT certification
- Accredited High School diploma, general education development (“GED”) credential, or equivalent
- Comfort working with blood, needles, and medical equipment
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina for long shifts (up to 12+ hours)
- Flexibility to float between facilities as needed
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare experience a plus (CNA, MA, Phlebotomy, CHT, BONENT certified)
