About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician for its Minot Walk In Clinic. The role provides basic patient care services and supports ambulatory services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional. The technician provides care for patients from adolescence through geriatrics, taking into account age-related and cultural needs. The clinic’s schedules are made approximately six weeks in advance, and shifts vary according to clinic needs. The role is scheduled for 20 hours per week.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required at hire or within the first 60 days of employment.
For employees working in North Dakota who are not Certified Nursing Assistants, registration as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health is required within four months of initial employment.
Must be self-motivated, independent, and able to work well with team members.
Must be able to work amid multiple distractions while maintaining excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of experience.
Experience in a clinic setting.
Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

Responsibilities

Perform basic patient care services, including measuring height, weight, and blood pressure, conducting visual acuity and color vision screenings, drug screens, and point-of-care urinalysis.
Perform reception and clerical tasks.
Prepare patient treatment areas and exam rooms for use.
Prepare and clean medical equipment.
Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
Clean and maintain patient care areas and treatment rooms.
Monitor medical inventory stock levels and restock or reorder as needed.
Work patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care.
Support nursing staff in daily workflow.
