About The Position
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of the collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You will assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient served. This position is with HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital, a 155-bed hospital in Sarasota County, Florida, serving Sarasota and Manatee counties. The hospital has been delivering care since 1967 and describes its campus as offering a resort-style patient experience.
Requirements
- Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
- No experience required.
- No travel required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
- Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
- Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
- Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
- Support Registered Nurses with hands-on patient care, monitoring conditions, and carrying out care plans.
