About The Position

INTEGRIS Health Canadian Valley Hospital is hiring a full-time, night-shift Patient Care Tech for the Med Surg Unit in Yukon, Oklahoma. The Patient Care Tech performs delegated direct patient care activities for an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires population-specific competencies and adherence to applicable National Patient Safety Goals. Department-specific competencies are completed during orientation.

Requirements

Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Complete department-specific competencies during orientation.
Meet at least one of the following education or experience options: successful completion of a recognized nursing assistant course; successful completion of an accredited nursing program, Nursing Fundamentals, or Introduction to Nursing course that includes a skills lab or clinical rotation (verification required via transcript or official notice); enroll in a CNA training program within 45 days and complete it within 90 days of hire; have 3 months of employment in an INTEGRIS patient care area with nursing assistant duty training and observation certified by a clinical nurse manager or clinical director; have 12 months of nursing assistant experience in an acute care facility, nursing home, home care setting, or long-term care facility; or have prior military hospital corpsman medical training.

Responsibilities

Perform personal patient care tasks, including mouth care, making beds, bathing, perineal care, hair care, shaving, and emptying bedpans or urinals.
Assist with patient safety, including checking identification arm bands, following fall protocols and restraint procedures, positioning patients, promoting rest and sleep, and reporting incidents or injuries.
Perform treatments that may include urinary catheter care, enema administration, preparing sitz baths, applying compresses, and assisting with patient ambulation.
May retrieve and transport medications.
