About The Position

Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Tech performs specific duties that support patient care, including direct and indirect care activities essential to maintaining a safe and efficient care environment. The role carries out selected interventions and activities that contribute to comprehensive patient care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. In collaboration with the care team, the Patient Care Tech helps ensure a positive patient experience. The position works in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder, based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held. On-site training is provided, and no prior experience is required.

Requirements

Successful completion of PCT-specific Hartford HealthCare orientation.
Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed Certified BLS Provider credential within two months (60 days) of hire or job transfer.
Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed Certified BLS Provider credential.
CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA certification for eligibility to advance in the PCT clinical ladder.
