About The Position
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) will perform routine personal care and assist with activities of daily living for patients. This role involves assisting patients with ambulation, turning, positioning, and transfers, as well as performing special procedures as assigned. The PCT will document care provided, observe infection control measures, and perform clerical duties. This position requires knowledge of patient safety guidelines and age-specific competencies across the lifespan. The PCT is responsible for self-growth and education to maintain competence and for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Responsibilities
- Performs routine personal care and assists with activities of daily living for patients.
- Assists patients with body mechanics such as: ambulation, turning, positioning, transfer to wheelchairs/stretchers, and assists with range of motion.
- Performs special procedures as assigned and notifies the nurse of any abnormal findings.
- Documents nursing assistant care provided to patients according to scope and nursing policy and procedure.
- Observes infection control measures.
- Performs clerical duties in maintaining reports and records of the patient care unit.
- Performs other duties delegated by licensed nurse.
- Follows patient safety guidelines (for example, patient identifiers, labeling specimens at the bedside, etc.).
- Admits patients and assists in completing and recording admission data as applicable within scope and nursing policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and the ability to meet the needs of and provide care for these patients across various age categories (Neonatal/Infant, Pediatrics, Adolescence, Young Adult/Adult, Adult/Middle-Aged, Geriatric).
- Responsible for self growth and education to maintain competence.
- Maintains a clean, neat, orderly working area.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or required.
