About The Position

Lovelace Women’s Hospital is hiring a day-shift, full-time Endoscopy Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The PCT works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to provide patient care, including assistance with daily activities and other duties that support the care team. The position includes observing and reporting patient progress, collecting and recording clinical information, transporting patients, and maintaining the care environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in phlebotomy or completion of a phlebotomy course.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Two years’ experience in acute or long-term care.
• Completion of an approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or current enrollment in nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Observe patients’ progress and prepare and disseminate reports to the Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients’ vital signs.
• Collect specimens for laboratory tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record patients’ intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
• Assist patients with range-of-motion activities.
• Draw blood.
