Patient Care Tech - PCT - Pre-Op/Recovery Care - FT Days
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as a caregiver to patients during scheduled work periods, providing patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role is in Pre-Op/Recovery Care and is scheduled for 40 hours per week on day shifts. Shifts include a mix of 12- and 8-hour shifts, with start and end times ranging between 4:45 a.m. and 7 p.m.; weekends and holidays are not required. The salary range is $17.50–$23.00, and a sign-on bonus is available to eligible applicants.
Requirements
- Strong communication, customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, be listed on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training and competency validation or within a maximum of four months from initial employment.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Responsibilities
- Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
- Administer basic health care and medical treatments.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation and dining needs, emotional and spiritual needs, and laundry.
- Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
- Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients.
- Prepare patient treatment areas and medical equipment for use; clean equipment and dispose of biomedical waste according to standards and policy.
- Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
- Provide one-on-one care to patients when necessary for safe provision of care.
