About The Position

The Intermediate Care Unit is seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech (PCT) to join their fast-paced team. This role involves providing assistance to patients according to their plan of care, collecting patient data, and reporting significant findings to the nurse. The PCT will also assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, and provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences. Technical procedures will be performed safely and proficiently, with a focus on taking action to reduce or eliminate patient risk. The role includes entering orders into computer or manual systems if applicable, documenting accurately and appropriately, and adapting care to reflect the patient population in collaboration with the nurse. The PCT will also incorporate cultural/religious needs and beliefs into care delivery, keep the patient environment clean and safe, and anticipate and meet patient/family and visitor needs through rounding.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or Current EMT for TX or Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
