About The Position

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) Float Pool position is a full-time role working nights at Texas Health Rockwall. This role involves floating to different units within the hospital to provide assistance to patients according to their plan of care. The PCT will collect patient data, report significant findings to the nurse, and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. This position requires working in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers, and other disciplines, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility to meet changing needs. The PCT is responsible for maintaining and enhancing patient care skills, identifying and improving ineffective or costly processes, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations. The role is part of a supportive team environment with opportunities for growth within a collaborative team approach and a strong shared governance structure.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire is required upon hire
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician - Military experience with medical training equivalent (equivalent to EMT-B) required upon hire
  • Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire
  • 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90days of hire and maintained annually
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to attend training at the corporate office in Arlington Monday-Friday 8am-5pm during the first week of hire
