About The Position

The Patient Care Tech/PCT Float Pool (Full-Time / Nights) position at Texas Health Rockwall involves providing assistance to patients according to their plan of care, collecting patient data and reporting significant findings to the nurse, and assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges. This role operates in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team approach and a strong shared governance structure. The PCT will float to different units within the hospital and must be adaptable and flexible to changing schedules and workloads to meet patient needs. The position also requires maintaining and enhancing patient care skills and assisting in the identification and improvement of ineffective processes.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire is required upon hire or
EMT - Emergency Medical Technician - Military experience with medical training equivalent (equivalent to EMT-B) required upon hire or
Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire or
1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire and
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90days of hire and maintained annually
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
After hire PCT CNA renewal is not a requirement of the role if the PCT has consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.

Responsibilities
