About The Position
The Patient Care Tech assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to meet patients’ physical, emotional, and social needs. The role also serves as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs and is cross-trained to Unit Associate or Monitor Technician. The position assists with maintaining a safe and clean unit environment and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. This is a full-time night-shift position. A sign-on bonus of up to $6,000 is available for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Nursing Assistant course work.
- Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Certified Medical Assistant or one year of CNA experience.
- Successful completion of the GSMC EKG test if cross-trained as a Monitor Technician.
- CPI certification due within 30 days of hire or transfer.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist with patient care functions.
- Assist with indirect patient care functions and transport.
- Communicate and document activities.
- Provide leadership, including serving as a clinical preceptor to Nursing Assistants and PCTs.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and clean unit environment.
- Cross-train to Unit Associate or Monitor Technician.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
