About The Position

This full-time position, located at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus, is for a Patient Care Technician/Telemetry Technician working 36 hours per week, from 7am-7pm. The role requires working 4-5 weekends in a 6-week period and a rotating holiday track. As a Patient Care Tech, the individual will perform patient care tasks and procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient comfort, care, and safety. As a Telemetry Tech, the individual will monitor cardiac rhythms and oxygen saturation using telemetry equipment to detect abnormal pattern variances. This includes monitoring screens, assessing cardiac rhythms, printing strips for medical charts, and notifying nursing or medical personnel as needed. Additionally, the Telemetry Tech will perform clerical duties such as answering routine questions and managing telephone calls. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course OR minimum six months of previous patient care experience OR equivalent OR completion of one nursing clinical rotation
  • Minimum three months of previous healthcare or monitor tech experience
  • Attend an in-depth orientation regarding patient care skill tasks

Responsibilities
