Join the team on Farr 3, a 30-bed adult medical-surgical unit dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered care to individuals with complex acute and chronic medical conditions. Our patient population includes those with heart failure, COPD, diabetes, sepsis, advanced wound care needs, delirium and dementia, behavioral health and substance use disorders, as well as patients requiring tracheostomy management, chest tubes, and other specialized medical therapies. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is an essential member of the interdisciplinary care team who partners closely with registered nurses to provide direct patient care and support daily unit operations. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living, obtaining and documenting vital signs, measuring intake and output, performing blood glucose monitoring, obtaining EKGs, assisting with patient mobility and ambulation, maintaining a clean and safe patient environment, and recognizing and promptly communicating changes in patient condition to the nursing team. Successful PCTs on Farr 3 demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, a strong work ethic, accountability, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities while working collaboratively with nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team. Compassion, attention to detail, and a willingness to step in wherever needed are key qualities that contribute to the success of our team. Per Diem Commitment: Per diem Patient Care Technicians are required to work a minimum of 16 hours during each four-week scheduling period, including meeting applicable off-shift and holiday scheduling requirements as outlined by department policy.
