Patient Care Tech (PCT) - Telemetry
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech assists professional nursing staff with the provision of basic care to adult patients. This includes taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and monitoring patients. The role involves measuring and recording patient intakes, outputs, and temperatures, and promptly reporting any abnormalities to the supervisor. Care delivered must be documented accurately and timely in the electronic health record. This position will also perform the role of a unit secretary as needed, providing clinical and reception support, and managing supply procurement, receipt, and storage for the unit as directed by the Charge Nurse and/or Director. Orders and tests must be entered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current AHA CPR card required
Nice To Haves
- Enrolled in Nursing program with completion of one clinical class
- Phlebotomy and EKG Experience preferred
- CNA Completed Course preferred
Responsibilities
