About The Position

Our adult cancer care program includes three busy clinics. The Head & Neck Oncology Clinic treats a wide range of head and neck cancers. The Rutledge Tower Non Chemo Infusion Clinic delivers non chemotherapy infusion services to adults. The Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Clinic provides post surgical rehabilitation, including dental implants and prosthetic eyes, ears, and noses, for head and neck cancer patients.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
  • Must be certified through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Health career Association (NHA) or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).

Nice To Haves

  • One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or Paramedic certification, Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution or equivalent training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical record.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
