About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Medical Surgical unit at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. The department is Observation and the schedule is Day shift | PRN. The Patient Care Tech will be responsible for obtaining and recording vital signs, charting patient data, and reporting abnormal findings. They will also monitor and document fluid intake and output, perform blood draws, and provide direct patient care including rounding and assisting with activities of daily living.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
12+ months of direct care experience

Nice To Haves

Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.
