About The Position

The Patient Care Tech II assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary to care for patients’ personal needs and comfort. Duties include assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, and changing bed linens. The role may also involve serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The position requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a nursing assistant program.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. If certified through the American Red Cross, obtain American Heart Association certification within 60 days of hire.
• Obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Ability to use computer-driven patient care equipment.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of acute care and/or previous clinical experience.
• Prior basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties, with prior HUC training or experience in a clinical setting.
