About The Position
Piedmont Henry Hospital Medical-Surgical ICU is a 40-bed, fast-paced, high-acuity Intensive Care Unit. We are staffed with Critical Care Intensivists/APPs 24/7, along with Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Patient Care Technicians. Our typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:3. The unit manages complex cases including Sepsis and Multi-System Organ failure, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) for post-cardiac arrest, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. We utilize technologies such as EKOS Ultrasound Accelerated Thrombolysis, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, BIS monitors, TOF monitors, and manage pacemakers. We care for patients with complex respiratory failure, post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, acute stroke with Alteplase management, various types of shock, neurosurgical patients including external ventricular devices, and patients with ARDS requiring manual prone therapy.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- No experience required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of patient care experience
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- Certification from a Patient Care Technician program
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy.
