About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech Float at Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, TN, within the Float Pool department. The schedule is PRN for day shifts. The position involves obtaining and recording vital signs, charting patient data, and reporting abnormal findings. It also includes monitoring and documenting fluid intake and output, performing blood draws, and providing direct patient care such as rounding and assisting with activities of daily living.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
12+ months of direct care experience as a Patient Care Technician in a hospital setting

Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.
