About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Emergency Department at Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee. The position is full-time and requires weekend availability. The Patient Care Tech will assist with patient movement and placement, personal care, and daily living activities. They will also report patient condition changes to nursing staff, document records, maintain patient rooms and equipment, and perform other assigned emergency department duties within their scope.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certified Nursing Assistant credentialed from the state of Wisconsin, and in Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work within a hospital setting required.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

Weekend program, 24 hours per week
Previous ED experience preferred

Responsibilities

Aid with movement and placement of patients.
Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Document necessary records.
Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
Perform emergency department specific care/duties as assigned within scope of job.
