The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator. This is a FULL-TIME NIGHT SHIFT PCT position needed for the Medical Telemetry unit, which specializes in monitoring heart rhythms. PCTs on this unit are cross-trained to the Telemetry tech role, and all RNs are certified in telemetry. The unit cares for a full spectrum of medical issues, including diabetes, infectious diseases, electrolyte imbalances, gastroenterological, respiratory, cardiac, kidney, and liver maladies. It is described as a fast-paced unit that increases critical thinking skills and helps employees pursue their career goals.
