About The Position

The Patient Care Supervisor at Key Whitman Eye Center in Dallas is responsible for directing, supervising, and managing all sales and services within the Front Desk and Optical department. This role involves hiring, training, coaching, and managing team performance, ensuring compliance with optical industry laws and regulations, and guaranteeing the delivery of high-quality products and services to patients. The supervisor will also prepare sales and expense reports, maintain cost control of inventory and lab work, and participate in selecting and ordering new products. Additionally, the role requires resolving patient complaints, managing staff/patient interactions, assisting with end-of-day counts and deposits, providing administrative support to the Clinic Administrative Manager, and fostering a respectful, collaborative department culture. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 5-7 Years in Optical Management at a private practice
  • 5 years patient/customer care experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • ABO and NCLE certified
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills

Nice To Haves

  • BA or BS preferred
  • Proficiency in a second language highly desirable (Spanish preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Directs, supervises, and is responsible for all sales and services by Front Desk and Optical department
  • Hire, train, coach and manage performance of team
  • Complies with laws and regulations in the Optical industry
  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality products and services to patients
  • Prepares routine reports on sales expenses for appropriate control and budgeting compliance
  • Provides in-service programs to company personnel
  • Maintains cost control of materials inventory and lab work through financial statement reconciliation
  • Meets with Sales Representatives to select and order new products with Clinic Administrative Manager
  • Resolves patient complaints and reviews patient surveys
  • Manages Staff/patient interactions on the phone and in-person
  • Assist with end of day counts and reports to prepare accurate deposits
  • Participate in hiring, training, and developing new staff members that are patient service oriented
  • Provide administrative support to the Clinic Administrative Manager when needed
  • Work closely with Clinic Manager to foster a respectful, collaborative department culture that promotes teamwork and effective communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned
