About The Position

The Patient Care Manager is responsible for the daily operations of assigned outpatient behavioral health department(s) and monitors the activities of all office operations to ensure the department(s) meet requirements and objectives and provide quality and cost-effective care. Patient Care Manager works closely with Clinical Leadership to ensure maximization of efficiencies and accuracies in provider schedules and patient care.

Requirements

  • College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse; or Bachelor's Degree: Nursing; or Associate's Degree: Medical Assisting; or Experience in lieu of degree
  • 2+yrs Healthcare operations
  • 2+yrs Ambulatory Care

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership within the clinic setting in order to ensure effective, efficient office operations, optimizing performance and continually improving quality of care and financial viability in a vastly changing health care environment.
  • Coordinate day to day clinic operations and provide direct support and oversight to maximize schedules of providers, nurses, PSR’s, MORs, etc.
  • Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of and provide operational support for tasks and job functions in areas of patient accounts, registration, and insurance coverage.
  • Resolve customer concerns, questions, and complaints by identifying opportunities and coordinating appropriate action plans.
  • Oversee and work assigned Epic work queues daily and establish standards for reducing registration errors, claim denials, and other issues that affect department revenue.
  • Spearhead front office operations and team leadership, optimizing staffing, SVR, and fiscal performance to meet strategic business targets.
  • Develop and manage a budget for office supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures and revenues.
  • Establish effective mechanisms of communication with staff, providers and patients.
  • Act as a liaison between providers/patients/staff/leadership.
  • Take the leadership role in times of disaster or emergencies to secure the safety of staff, patients, visitors, the facility and protected health information.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including but not limited to, OSHA, DNV, HIPAA, and relevant labor laws.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Complete hiring, onboarding, training development, and performance appraisals of assigned team members.
  • Directly supervise assigned team members, including MORs, MOAs, PSRs, CMAs, etc.
  • Create a culture of innovation, learning, teamwork and professional practice, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Actively participate in and/or lead team huddles.
  • Act as first line decision maker with respect to employee relations, performance concerns, or disciplinary action situations.
  • Act as Payroll Timekeeper and approves scheduling and vacation requests for all staff.
  • Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Implement strategies that maximize access to care.
  • Responsible for delegated accountability of department metrics.
  • Ensures coverage of activities assigned to team members supervised by the Patient Care Manager.
