About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian is a leading academic health care delivery system dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care. The Center for Community Health at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital offers personalized outpatient care, integrating new technologies and innovative clinical approaches. This multi-specialty ambulatory center includes a Comprehensive Cancer and Women’s Health Center, ambulatory surgery operating rooms, and multispecialty physician practices. The Patient Care Director is a first-line leadership role responsible for managing patient care delivery in the Womens and Children Ambulatory Practices, facilitating efficient daily operations, and promoting a culture of safety and quality. This role collaborates with the Director of Nursing on unit goals and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Nursing in related field (If currently pursuing a Master’s Degree, must be completed within 1 year of hire)
  • Current New York State RN license
  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • All roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Assume first line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of patient care in the Womens and Children Ambulatory Practices.
  • Facilitate efficient and cost-effective daily operations of the ambulatory practices.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in the establishment of unit(s) short and long term goals and ensure its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals.
  • Monitor staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements.
