About The Position

Highbar Physical Therapy is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to join their team. The PCC is a key member of the clinical staff, responsible for ensuring excellent patient experiences and driving administrative efficiency within the clinic. This role involves direct patient interaction, scheduling, payment collection, and administrative support to clinical staff. Highbar Physical Therapy is a growing outpatient practice with locations across New England, focused on combining musculoskeletal health science with individualized care to achieve life-changing patient outcomes.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two to three years of related experience and/or training

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in healthcare administration or a related field of study preferred

Responsibilities

Retrieve daily messages from the answering machine and update schedules.
Greet and direct patients, vendors, and visitors.
Ensure new patients complete necessary paperwork and organize it for their first appointment.
Answer a multi-line phone system, collecting demographic and insurance information from new patients.
Collect co-payments from patients and document transactions.
Manage patient appointments and cancellations, reviewing therapist schedules to fill openings.
Document pertinent conversations for future reference.
Assist therapists with faxing patient information to medical offices.
Understand insurance benefits, including eligibility and authorization requirements.
Explain benefit details to patients, including co-pays and deductibles.
Initiate collection activities according to company policies.
Negotiate payment terms with customers.
Review essential reporting and dashboards to ensure timely task completion.
