About The Position

This position is part-time and requires someone with a professional demeanor, who can work well under stress, provide excellent customer service to patients, and multitask effectively. The role involves performing a variety of medical clerical duties to ensure the smooth transitioning of patients through their required services. This includes registration and pre-registration functions, preparing pre-registration packets, obtaining necessary documentation for billing and collections, processing co-payments and payments, registering patients, updating medical records, handling incoming calls, performing nightly closing procedures for the clinic, and calling patients for pre-registration notification regarding copays and deductibles. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Customer service background

Nice To Haves

  • Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform registration and pre-registration functions for smooth patient transitioning.
  • Prepare pre-registration packets for each procedure.
  • Obtain copies of appropriate documentation for billing and collections.
  • Process co-payments and payments.
  • Register patients and update medical records.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate person or department.
  • Perform nightly closing procedures for the clinic.
  • Call patients for pre-registration notification, including copays and deductibles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
