Responsibilities
- Processes all outpatient diagnostic orders and physician referrals.
- Completes a quality review of all patient charts ensuring charts are ready for patient visit.
- Informs medical records of needed records and ensures records are in patient chart and chart is prepared at least 24 hours ahead of visit time.
- Monitors incoming phone messages, addressing issues within scope and redirecting others as needed for timely resolution.
- Works closely with office staff to aid in patient scheduling.
- Is cross trained and serves as a back-up for Medical Assistant.
- Contributes to the nursing assessment. Collects data accurately and timely.
- Works closely with the Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and Clinic Nurse to discuss patient problems and management.
- Implements the physicians’ treatment plan based on the patient assessment ensuring all tests and appointments are ordered and received.
- Implements interdisciplinary teaching plan based on identified needs involving patient/family and evaluate/revise as needed.
- Assists with all patient coordination of care and follow up.
- Performs phlebotomy on patients, if needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
