Patient Care Attendant (PCA)
About The Position
We are seeking caring, dependable, and compassionate Patient Care Attendants (PCAs) / Caregivers to support clients with daily activities, personal care, and companionship. The role promotes clients’ comfort, dignity, and independence. Clients may need assistance because of aging, illness, disabilities, or recovery following a medical procedure. Care is provided in clients’ homes, independent and assisted living facilities, and hospitals. Flexible shifts are available seven days a week, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Previous caregiving or patient care experience is preferred. Candidates should be patient, reliable, willing to learn, and genuinely enjoy helping others. Medication administration is not included; medication support is limited to reminders and management assistance within assigned duties.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable personal vehicle with current auto liability insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Dependable, patient, and compassionate attitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow care instructions.
- A genuine interest in helping others and providing respectful, quality care.
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiver, Patient Care Attendant (PCA), personal care, or healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Prepare meals and assist with daily routines.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
- Help with grocery shopping, errands, and other daily needs.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events, and recreational activities.
- Provide medication reminders and medication management support within the scope of assigned duties; medication administration is not included.
- Encourage clients to follow established medication schedules, dietary guidelines, and exercise routines.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
