About The Position

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, the Patient Care Associate assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and eating. The position provides patient care in an onsite hospital setting and involves supporting patients with hygiene, mobility, and other basic needs while communicating patient concerns to nurses.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience cannot be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Patient care experience of 0–1 year preferred.
Understand the role in providing patient care activities.
Understand and use hospital, division, and unit policies and procedures when providing care.
Communicate effectively with staff and members of the interdisciplinary health care team.
Communicate effectively with patients and significant others when providing patient care.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) credential.
Patient care experience of 0–1 year.

Responsibilities

Measure and document vital signs, weights, heights, and intake and output accurately and within established time frames or as requested.
Complete required documentation in the medical record.
Interact effectively with patients and their families.
Assist patients with basic hygiene, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
Help patients turn and reposition in bed and transfer between a bed and wheelchair as needed.
Listen to patients’ health concerns and report them to nurses.
