Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or STNA

Responsibilities

  • Provides high quality, direct patient care to an assigned group of patients.
  • Activities of daily living.
  • Utilization of safe patient handling equipment.
  • Measure and document intake and output.
  • Foley removal.
  • External urinary catheter management.
  • Telemetry monitor set up.
  • Blood glucose monitoring.
  • Oxygen set up and tasks delegated per scope of practice and skill set.
  • May provide clerical support to the care team including acting as a liaison facilitating communication with or between other care providers and visitors directly or via telephone.
  • Works collaboratively with other care team members including the patient and family.
  • Participates collaboratively with RN to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Has access to confidential patient information.
  • Must communicate with all team members regarding care provided by them to the assigned patient group.
  • Carries out daily activities under the direct supervision of a Patient Care Coordinator / Registered Nurse, RN or Assistant Nurse Manager and indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager or Director.
