About The Position

Glens Falls Hospital is looking for students, healthcare workers, and entry level candidates with a background or interest in the healthcare field to join our team as a Patient Care Associate (PCA). As a Float Pool PCA, you'll provide high-quality patient care across a variety of inpatient departments based on your experience and clinical competencies. From Medical/Surgical and Behavioral Health to the Emergency Department and ICU, you'll care for diverse patient populations while adapting to different clinical environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams. This role is ideal for candidates with healthcare experience who enjoy variety and are eager to expand their clinical knowledge while making a meaningful impact wherever they are needed most.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for caring and supporting others
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (can be earned after hire)

Nice To Haves

Patient care experience
Medical terminology knowledge

Responsibilities

Perform all aspects of first-level patient care including promoting hygiene and mobility
Measure and record patients’ vitals such as temperature and blood pressure
Responds to patient/family needs and requests
May assist and support physicians/nurses during routine procedures and treatments
Report all observations, changes in patient condition to responsible RN for timely, appropriate evaluation and response
Prepare hospital rooms
Change patients’ bed sheets, pillows and turning or repositioning patients in their beds
Deliver meals to patients and assist with feeding
Help patients dress and/or assist with toileting needs
Bathe patients
Listen to patients’ concerns, record them and report them to a nurse
Patient companion when needed
