About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for our 3SW Cardiac Step Down Unit located within the Ft. Thomas Hospital. This is a full-time position with 36 hours per week, working the 7 PM to 7 AM shift. The PCA role involves coordinating and maintaining clerical functions, utilizing customer service skills, completing worklist tasks under supervision, and providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a RN or LPN. This includes assisting patients with daily living activities, personal care, comfort, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Requirements

High school Diploma / GED
Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
General computer skills and applications
Customer service experience

Responsibilities

Coordinate and maintain clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program.
Utilize Customer Service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone.
Complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
Provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, provide for personal care, comfort, and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.
