About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for our Same Day Surgery located within the Edgewood Hospital. This position is scheduled for 5 days over a two-week period, with 8-hour shifts. Shift start and end times may vary based on department needs. The Same Day Surgery unit operates between 5:30AM and 7:30PM. The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. Utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patient/visitors and answering telephone. Demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Requirements

High school Diploma / GED
Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
General computer skills and applications
Customer service experience

Responsibilities
