About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital St. Louis in Chesterfield MO is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join their team. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Previous relevant experience or completion of basic skills as a registered nursing student.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• Nursing Assistant Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN/LPN, assists in ensuring optimal patient care and provides direct patient care.
• Completes required documentation in the patient's record.
• Maintains equipment and supplies and participates in quality assurance activities.
• Communicates appropriate information within and between departments.
• Assists with and participates in staff education and pursues continuing education for personal development.
• Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately when caring for patients and follows applicable policies and procedures.
