About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for our Oncology unit located within the Edgewood Hospital. The Patient Care Assistant is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. They utilize Customer Service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone. The role demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. The Patient Care Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN. They assist patients with activities of daily living, provide for personal care, comfort, and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Requirements

High school Diploma / GED
Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
General computer skills and applications
Customer service experience

Responsibilities
