About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for our Oncology unit located within the Edgewood Hospital. This is a full-time position with 36 hours per week, working the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. The Patient Care Assistant is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. They utilize customer service skills when greeting patients and visitors and answering the telephone. The role involves demonstrating the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Additionally, the Patient Care Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN, assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care and comfort, and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Requirements

High school Diploma / GED
Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
General computer skills and applications
Customer service experience

Responsibilities
