About The Position

The 61st Street Service Corporation provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast, comprising over 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses. This Patient Care Assistant position will support ColumbiaDoctors by assisting the clinical team with morning monitoring duties to ensure efficient and effective operations. The role is based out of the Teaneck, NJ practice location and involves working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Demonstrate good customer service orientation and the ability to deliver consistent exceptional service while demonstrating tact, respect and sensitivity.
  • Organized and able to manage a demanding workload with limited complexity in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to participate as a member of a team, including reliability, punctuality, and adaptability to new and changing situations.
  • Ability to work independently, follow through, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and respectful manner while appreciating the unique contributions of an inclusive workforce that brings together the talents of people across multiple identities.
  • Strong commitment to fostering diversity and equity.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software is required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a medical office environment with knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Prior experience in Epic.
  • Prior experience in an Ob/Gyn office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Chaperone physicians in exam rooms and document scanner findings i.e. follicles and uterine lining measurements.
  • Assist in unpacking and restocking supplies.
  • Turn-over rooms between patients and assist with exam/procedure room maintenance.
  • Assist with preparation of paperwork required for monitoring appointments.
  • Ensure that the overall condition of workspace area is clean and safe according to practice standards.
  • Escalate any issues to Environmental Services, Engineering, Central Sterile, Materials Management, etc., and ensure follow through.
  • Ensure inventory and adequate supply of personal protective equipment and other hygiene products in point-of-entry and mixed-use areas.
  • Inform manager if inventory needs replenishment.
  • Conduct regular rounding of point of entry, elevators, stairwells, and mixed use space areas to proactively address issues/repair with furniture, monitors, or other equipment.
  • Enter appropriate tickets for escalation (IT, Engineering) when issue identified during rounding or observation.
  • Engage Security on day-to-day matters or when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
