About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. This role has openings in Float pool (staff are scheduled and work in a variety of hospital departments across the NWWI region), Medical Surgical (40-bed inpatient unit that cares for a diverse patient population including general medical, general surgery, orthopedics, oncology, and urology), Medical Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (40-bed inpatient unit that cares for surgical, general medical, and interventional cardiac care), and Neuro/Peds/Trauma (40-bed inpatient unit that cares for surgical, general medical, traumas, neurological and neurosurgical, and pediatrics). The skills and responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) align closely with those of a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT), making this a great opportunity for those with CNA experience.
