About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring comfort, safety, and quality outcomes. This role involves accurately documenting patient information and care activities in the medical record, maintaining and organizing equipment and supplies, and supporting quality assurance initiatives by adhering to established standards and protocols. The PCA will also communicate effectively with team members across departments, assist with staff education efforts, and actively pursue ongoing professional development. A key aspect of this role is applying knowledge of age-specific needs to deliver appropriate, patient-centered care in alignment with policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

  • Nursing Assistant Certificate preferred
  • PCA/DCA Experience preferred
