The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) supports the organization's vision by serving as a compassionate and transforming healing presence in the community. The PCA, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care, considering age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. They assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and conducive patient care environment, incorporating relationship-based care concepts. Training is provided to prepare colleagues for success. The PCA assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices, and feeding and menu selection. They are responsible for recording patient information and required data to meet documentation requirements.
